Dr. Johannes Astrophel is a Leonid astronomer and de jure head of the Empyrean Academy.

Biography

Astrophel was born on Hamal 22nd, 183 LE in Leona City. Precocious from a young age, he became a student at the Empyrean Academy at the start of 192 LE, studying physics under Luca Milan and Maria Milan. After the destruction of the academy during the Sack of Leona in 194 LE, he continued his studies alone, and took a keen interest in the movements of the planets. At the same time, he began to engage in the social sphere of Leonid high society, including beginning a close relationship with House Areli.

This came to his aid when, along with former students Jan Silverstein, Alice Barber, and Belle Hart, he sought to re-establish the Empyrean Academy in 212 LE, this time in secret and under the Empress' protection, as the Empress' Protecetorate. This was such that, after the Treaty of Leona and the academy could be reopened in 229 LE, he became the faculty head.
